Stephen J. Fister was born in St. Paul, Minn., to Sarah M. (Schanks) Fister and Ernest Fister. His sister, Mary Jo, was born three years after him. His family moved to Montana when he was 3. He contracted polio at the age of 5. He spent most of his school years in Montana. He attended San Diego State University where he received a B.A. in history and a minor in geography. Read More »
