Just when the fog is sending us into a deep gloom, along come the bright blooms of cyclamen to cheer our days.

Cyclamen are deciduous perennials that grow from tubers and will bloom either in late winter to early spring or late summer into fall depending upon the species.

Most also are summer dormant, which means that leaves and flowers emerge from late summer into winter and then they go dormant when hot weather arrives.
